Join us at Soul Voyage Trauma Center for an introductory class into Yin Yoga and Sound Healing! Yin is a yoga style used to slow down the body and settle within. Each yin pose enables us to access the deeper connective tissues (ligaments, joints, bones)we often neglect.  Each pose is held in stillness for a min of 1-3 min, respecting the individual as unique in the knowing that the shape of the pose will look different from person to person. Stemming from ancient Chinese philosophy, Yin works to quiet the mind and awaken the energy channels of the body. This action helps to create a flow of qi (life force) through gentle compression, breathwork and meditation while connecting deeply within the self through intention.

The ancient practice of sound healing complements Yin Yoga beautifully. As sound waves wash over and through the body, vibrations penetrate deeply to create energetic resonance, further assisting in a return to a natural state of homeostasis and harmony. Various gentle, sound instruments will be used during the practice. The combination of yin yoga and sound is like giving the body a gentle, internal loving massage. This has the power to extend loving, higher energy vibrations out into the world.

Benefits include: increased flexibility & energy, improved sleep, releases stored emotions, fosters self-love, regulates the breath, reduces stress, promotes calm and relaxation

Please bring a yoga mat, bolsters/blocks  (if needed), blanket and water bottle.

*Please consult with your doctor before attending if you are pregnant or have any health concerns.                              "A healthy body is a sound body!”
